Radiant Bones: City of Stolen Light

Chapter 1: The Stolen Glow — Episodes 1–3 Even in the dark, the city had a heartbeat. Tonight, it came from a street drummer. Then a golden hand reached through a rift and pulled a pale spirit from his chest. Color drained from his face and the street around him. Across the city, people were losing their glow—the light of their souls, carrying their joy, imagination and desire to create. They survived, but the things they loved began to feel empty. Unseen by the drummer, Ribelle struck with a pulse of blue resonance. The hand withdrew, taking his glow with it. She steadied him as he struggled to stand. “I can’t feel the beat.” He walked away, leaving his drums behind. Ribelle’s thought followed him: Wait… your drums. “They’re just noise now.” A few streets away, a painter was bringing color to a wall. The golden hand returned. As it drew out her spirit, both the artist and her painting faded to gray. This time, Ribelle had help. Vantai’s kick landed—and echoed into a second strike. The hand lost its hold, and the painter’s glow returned. Unaware of the heroines beside her, she reached for her brush. “I know what it needs.” One light had been saved. The drummer’s was still missing. Elsewhere, Onyx and her black cat, Jinx, found another rift. Jinx slipped through, but the luminous bond between them held across the opening. Onyx could still feel him. Beyond the portal, pale spirits hung captive on golden threads. The stolen glow was being kept here. Jinx returned safely to Onyx. Together with Ribelle and Vantai, they faced the opening. The people’s light still existed. There was something to bring home. A golden hand reached out from the flickering portal. This time, it beckoned. A voice spoke from the other side. “Come closer. If you dare.”
